hello again...

i've decided i'm the worst photographer. i tried posting a picture to this particular post, but it didn't look good. not even a little bit.

this is something i need to fix. i've never been that great at documenting my life. there is almost no evidence of me existing in my 20's, aside from the occasional wedding picture or family photo op. my lack of attention towards the camera has left me insecure, and with absolutely no skills. any ideas of how i can fix this problem before the baby is born? luckily, he is not camera-shy like his mother. we had our final ultrasound yesterday, and all is looking well. happy and smiling for the camera - at 29.5 weeks, he is a whopping 3.3 pounds, healthy as a horse, and measuring about a week ahead of schedule. i've looked forward to my ultrasound appointments like a kid at christmas, and i'm sad to see them go. happy that i'm getting closer to my due date, but sad none-the-less. i've loved our sonographer - always using words like outstanding, brilliant, excellent and superb. it's almost as if he is talking about a great prodigy about to be born. which, let's be honest, he is

as of late, my toes have gone missing. during my mountain pose this morning, i looked down and could not see anything underneath my bulging belly. i'm sometimes surprised i can balance myself at all.

our little man is incredibly active these days, which surprises me as he is running out of room to practice his somersaults and flips. nighttime and early morning are his favorite, although he is still getting especially hyper around 10 am. sleeping is becoming....well, difficult, but i welcome each kick, shove and poke as if its the first one. i don't think that feeling could ever get old. last night as i rubbed my hand across my belly, he rubbed right back. we kept the game up for a few minutes until he tired out, but it warmed my heart knowing he knows me. he also knows his dad. sometimes, the only thing that can calm him down (just so i can get some sleep), is the warm touch of cort's hand. i think its so sweet, and i can already tell who will be comforting the little one during long nights once he gets to us. baby prefers that i not cook very much anymore, and is much more content with anything cold - protein shakes, popsicles, berry fulfilling or strawberry surf rider jamba juices, and instead of baking - eating the chocolate chips straight out of the bag. what can i do? i'm a slave to this boy...

texas has come into summer full-swing, and we've already gone over 100 degrees a couple of days so far. to be honest, i love it. i love the heat, i love the humidity, and i love the sun. i received orders this week from my doctor to spend 20-30 minutes in the pool a day. i do not have a problem with this - i feel lucky that we have a pool so close by, as swimming has become my new favorite hobby. i feel sorry for the pool-goers that have to see me everyday with my less-than-flattering body in my less-than-flattering swimsuit, but surprisingly, i don't care. it is lovely, and i look forward to more sweltering days this summer. i'm looking forward to a texas-summer. a texas 4th of July, and nesting to prepare for our big arrival.

have a happy wednesday. xo.

just take lots of pics all the time...at everyone and anything. Stick to the rule of thirds often and you will enjoy some great pics. Who cares if they are great or not...the more you take you are bound to get at least one good one. I want to see a preggers shot of you I bet you are adorable. Have you continued to do yoga while pregnant? If so let mek now how it has been.

You look so great pregnant, pictures of you should be posted everywhere! And once the little one is born... you bet I expect pictures galore. Just take your camera everywhere with you.

I wish I was there to sit in the pool with you too. Miss you.

Your blog posts always make me smile and it's so sweet to how you describe the little one moving around. And I have to echo the others - I'd love to see a picture of pregnant Laura! :-)
