good morning, almost....

i woke up at 6 am this morning, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, but then quickly fell into a sleepy stupor 20 minutes later. i hate it when this happens. i was ready to go to the gym, had a little breakfast, sat on the couch to digest, and then fell asleep for the next 45 minutes. after waking up (again), i was groggy, lethargic, and therefore forced to eat a second breakfast...you know...for energy. so here i am, digesting again...

i don't know about you, but i hate when i get off schedule. i am a creature of routine, schedule and organization. i have my whole day planned on my blackberry calendar the day before. it's a little ridiculous, but it makes me feel better. i'm sure i'm going to have to learn to be more flexible once the little one comes along, but for now, it's how i get things done.

speaking of on the schedule - i'm looking forward to this weekend. i don't think we've had a weekend since we moved here where we are both in town, with nothing pressing to do. so, we are planning our first summer bbq tomorrow, and i'm trying to think of a new summer dessert to make. so far, i'm thinking something like this... or these or maybe thesebut i'd really like to make something a little more summery and cool. any ideas? i really wish i had an ice cream maker these days. i can remember the summer days with my dad sitting in the backyard with his manual ice cream maker, adding ice, churning, adding more ice, and churning some more. seems like it took forever, but nothing tasted better. i don't have the upper arm strength for something like that, so i was really hoping for something like this. nothing better than homemade ice cream after a long, hot day in the sun.

it's just so pretty.

hope this weekend brings you relaxation, some vitamin d and if you're like me, something sweet.

xo.

Oh Laura, your mornings sound just like mine! I think Im ready to wake up, then after eating my 1st breakfast, I quickly loose all energy and am sleepy again! I say just sleep and eat all you want, because in a couple months that whole sleeping whenever you feel like it, will be gone! What are we getting ourselves into? I have five weeks left! Five!!! Well I am jealous of your BBQ this weekend, we are going to be enjoying a nice cold front with wind and rain Im sure :( The weeks are nice, then the weekend comes and we have to stay inside... what the crap? Well have a great relazing weekend!

It is unseasonably cold here today. I am just itching for a BBQ. Take a picture of the food for me, and you're belly while you're at it :).

So, what did you make?

It looks like you figured out how to get larger pictures. I just use photoshop and "save for web".

I never had a camera until my girls came along. Just take a lot of pictures, and one is bound to turn out. You'll get lots of practice when your little one comes.
